Breguet Le Petit Trianon Watch And Jewelry Set

By Adam Keith, Associate Timepiece Editor for ViaLuxe-

Breguet, the famous Swiss watchmaking house synonymous with one of the greatest horologists of all time, has announced a splendid new family of watches and jewelry inspired by the Petit Trianon--the picturesque estate integral to the Palace of Versailles where Queen Marie Antoinette withdrew to find solace from the intrigues and pressures of court life.

The Breguet Petit Trianon collection is a delightful set composed of necklace, bracelet, ring, ear clips, and a watch--a bewitching mixture of jeweled extravagance and graceful beauty reflect the atmosphere and loveliness of the historic grounds which are its namesake. On each of the creations, a breathtaking emerald-cut diamond takes center stage, joined to thematic elongated bows that glisten with round brilliants and large princess cut diamonds.

The Breguet Petit Trianon timepiece draws upon the design of Breguet's acclaimed Reine de Naples collection: the elliptical white gold case presents a canvas of exacting diamond-setting, as does the pave-set diamond dial, where blued steel Breguet hands traverse an hour scale in mother of pearl. Joined to the signature bowed strap attachments is an exceptionally elegant satin strap and a white gold deployant clasp. Animating the hours and minutes is Breguet's self-winding 586 caliber. This artful mechanism is refined by hand according to the haute de gamme tradition, and features a central winding rotor in 22-karat gold.
